Pete Tong premieres Avicii’s new single “You Make Me”

Pete Tong is world famous for his selection in music, and more importantly the music he chooses to premiere on his infamous radio show “Essential selections”.

Tong whips listeners through his favourite selections, with “You make me” making the cut for his global radio show. Tong claimed to listeners how he tips Avicii’s new album “True” to be “on the Essential selections by the end of the summer”. Tong also revealed to listeners the single is to be released on the 16th of September.

Amongst the young Swede were other world premieres, including the “Arston remix” of “Grand Finale” by Russian producer Arty. Providing a hard-hitting big room electro track for listeners.

However the British radio DJ’s Essential Tune of the week went to Chris Malinchak’s suave track “If U got it”, taking the spot from Calvin Harris’ remix of “Eat Sleep Rave Repeat”.

Tongs Essential selection show is on next friday at 9pm on Radio 1, as he reveals to the world his pick of the newest dance music tracks.

Ellie Goulding reaches Number One spot for first time

Ellie Goulding reached the UK number one spot for the first time on the 18th Of August 2013, a date she will never forget. Miss Goulding topped the charts with “Burn”, a song remixed by Tiesto last month, which could only have helped the 26 year old on her rise to the top.

Having made the number one spot with “I need your Love” with ex lover Calvin Harris, this is the Herefordshire born Brits first solo number one track.

Shortly after finding out that she’d topped the charts the 26 year old wrote to her fans on Twitter “Number one. F**k. First UK number one… Thank you to all the fans for supporting me THE WHOLE TIME, overwhelmed and so happy x”.

Having recently split from Ex-Boyfriend and Worlds highest paid DJ Calvin Harris, Miss Goulding sought to make a strong impression on the public, and what more does that than a chart topping hit.

The single joins a long list of songs that cross POPular music with Dance, clearly popular with the British public.

Ellie Gouldinhgs “Burn” knocked Aviciis “Wake Me Up” collaboration with Alloe Blacc of the top spot, however they stayed strong at number two.

London prepares for SW4 Festival as tickets sell out

Approaching the festivals 10th Anniversary, South West Four Festival held in Clapham Common, London has officially sold out.

With the festivals 10th anniversary only 6 days away, SW4 have provided ticket-holders with a star studded line up with the likes of Dutch heavyweight Nicky Romero, Worlds best DJ Armin Van Buuren and the American party starter Steve Aoki headlining the festival.

Swedish producer and highly respected DJ Eric Prydz named a track after SW4 festival last year, claiming it was “that good”, as well as Drum ‘n’ Bass DJ Andy C saying “I’ve played SW4 for the last couple of years and the vibe was incredible. Loads of people getting involved, vibing off the music and going wild.”

Clashing with Creamfields, South West Four won’t attract as many EDM fans as the festival in Darsebury Farm, however it’s certainly appreciated by producers and DJ’s across the dance music scene as well as fans of Electronic music, proving why the festival’s had such a strong turn out.

Calvin Harris and Tiesto to join in “Greater than ” UK Tour

Calvin Harris and Tiesto, the highest and second highest paid DJ’s in the world, are to team up in a tour of the UK and Ireland.

The tour, which starts in December will visit five different cities including London and Manchester. Tickets will be available to the public as of the 23rd of August, where they will be priced from £27.50 for UK dates.

Starting on the 18th of December Tiesto and Harris will start the party in Belfast’s Odyssey Arena, before heading south to Dublin, Ireland. The pair then cross waters into London, Earls Court, the new Phones 4 U arena in Manchester, and wrap up the “Greater Than” tour in Glasgow.

Dutchman Tiesto, aged 44, first collaborated with the British Harris, aged 29, in 2009 on track “Century”. And Since, both have become superstars of the Electronic Dance Music scene, with Tiesto coming second behind fellow countryman Armin Van Buuren DJmags top 100 DJ’s. Mr Harris, born in Scotland has also achieved unprecedented success, making history by producing nine singles that have made the top 10 from his album “18 months”.

Cocoon recordings reach 100th release

Cocoon records have reached their centennial release with a compilation titled “Cocoon 100”.

With their 100th release set to be out in September, Cocoon records was founded in 2000 by German producer Sven Vath, with their headquarters based in Frankfurt, and since has become a platform for young artists looking to make an impact on the electronic music scene.

Initially starting as a label intent on releasing compilations largely revolving around the “Techno” style of dance music, the label has since had notable artists such as Boys Noize, Minilogue and Cassy, raising their significance as a platform providing a supporting tool for young artists.

The compilation features unreleased tracks from Loco Dice, Lawrence and Dana Ruh, as well as a two disc CD to feature  Legowelt, Gregor Tresher, Petar Dundoy and more.

With Cocoon staying true to their hearts year after year releasing techno tracks to resolute Techno fans, the record label doesn’t seem like stopping any time soon.
