Calvin Harris pips Tiesto for Forbes highest paid DJ

Forbes has released their list of the highest paid DJ’s in Electronic Dance Music. Last year Tiesto topped the list, however in spite of the Dutchman earning more than his yearly earnings last year with a staggering $32 million, Scot Calvin Harris pipped him to the top making $46 million.

The calculation is based on annual earning estimates including income from live shows, merchandise sales, endorsements, record sales, external businesses and TV appearances.

The 29 year old born in Dumfries, Scotland, not only our earned fellow producer Tiesto, but Kanye West, Jay Z and Katy Perry as well.

The top 12 raked in over a quarter of a Billion dollars collectively calculating $268 million over the past 12 months.

Creamfields site map released

With under two weeks until the UK’s biggest dance music festival, Creamfields releases it’s site map to the public.

Set to take place in Daresbury farm, Cheshire, for the 6th year running, all the stages are back, as were seen last year with the North and South stages being the main attractions holding some of the biggest names in EDM such as Avicii, Hardwell, Tommy Trash, and more.

Steve Angello revealed to his fans “Next week – Size in the park Glasgow , Mysterylands Amsterdam ,Two Creamfields shows , Belsonic Belfast”

On Twitter Alesso wrote “@Creamfields its time to get all mixed up!”

With only 10 days until the festival starts and tickets still on sale, Creamfields are hoping to make as bigger impression as ever, as the Clublife South stage has undergone substantial refurbishment, playing host to the UK’s largest main stage equal to 6 double decker buses in width and 4 in height.

SLVR marks SIZE records 10th anniversary

SLVR is to be released today by Size records marking the labels 10th anniversary and 100th release.

Having called it quits with Swedish House Mafia earlier this year, Steve Angello is back on the House scene teaming up with Russian duo Matisse and Sadko. The track is more then worthy of the labels centennial release, with the Russian duos melodic and synth centred style proving to be an exceptional compliment to Angellos epic imprint on the track.

Steve Angello, head of SIZE records posted on twitter that day “Thank you for being part of SIZE 10 years ! SIZE100 is out today and its been a hell of a ride ! i´m blessed and thankful ! Much LOVE #SLVR”

One wouldn’t be at fault for suggesting that Mr Angello might take some time out from the industry, but you couldn’t be more wrong as he releases an epic track that can be played in festivals as well as at the peak of a night in clubs. Having separated from fellow Swedes Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso after an illustrious reign at the peak of House music with Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello released the song today on beatport and has tour dates set for the end of September in New York on the 27th and 28th as part of SIZE in the park.

Starting the blogs

My first Blog was the hardest, starting is always the hardest part of a task, as often you don’t know where to. However Starting with a festival I had just been to was an easy place to begin with.

The blog was straight forward having just been to the festival the day before.

Including media was difficult, trial and error was how i learnt how to do so, and eventually I managed to do so, by inserting the link into the text. This was after finding out how to insert a picture as the header however, which proved to be extremely tasking. The process was the same and after that I had no troubles in inserting media.

Since I’ve had no problems regarding the blogs themselves.

Categorising the Blogs

I struggled to categorise and link the blogs to the menus at the top of the Webpage.

I travelled up to Lincoln for help from my Colleagues and they aided me in doing so. It was relatively straight forward and something that I could leave until near the end of my websites completion.

Creating categories was straight forward, and My colleague simply showed me how to link it to the menu at the top of the page.
