London prepares for SW4 Festival as tickets sell out

Approaching the festivals 10th Anniversary, South West Four Festival held in Clapham Common, London has officially sold out.

With the festivals 10th anniversary only 6 days away, SW4 have provided ticket-holders with a star studded line up with the likes of Dutch heavyweight Nicky Romero, Worlds best DJ Armin Van Buuren and the American party starter Steve Aoki headlining the festival.

Swedish producer and highly respected DJ Eric Prydz named a track after SW4 festival last year, claiming it was “that good”, as well as Drum ‘n’ Bass DJ Andy C saying “I’ve played SW4 for the last couple of years and the vibe was incredible. Loads of people getting involved, vibing off the music and going wild.”

Clashing with Creamfields, South West Four won’t attract as many EDM fans as the festival in Darsebury Farm, however it’s certainly appreciated by producers and DJ’s across the dance music scene as well as fans of Electronic music, proving why the festival’s had such a strong turn out.

Electric Daisy Carnival, a Capital electrified

This year on the 20th of July, EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) broaden its horizons and for the first time, showed London what’s to be seen amongst the biggest EDM (Electronic Dance Music) producers and DJ’s in the world. Dubbed as the “warm up” almost a month before the highly anticipated “Creamfields” festival in Daresbury Farm, Warrington, Insomniac events provided an electrifying teaser with EDM heavyweights such as; the colossal young Swede Avicii, Dutch legend Tiesto, and one third of the infamous Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello.

Hosted within the Olympic Park, the event proved a great advert for both Dance music and London with thousands of people in attendance from around the globe, all party to the blissful electronic synths spouted from the main stage. Dutch sensation Hardwell started the show and didn’t disappoint providing the crowd with his hard-hitting style, as well as releasing his latest collaboration with the exciting producer Dyro, “Never say goodbye”. Alesso was on next and proved the crowd exactly why he’s become SHM’s new prodigee, as his uplifting and melodic traits were ever apparent throughout his performance, as well as showcasing his latest remix of Keane’s song “If I lose myself”. Steve Angello followed showing as always that your money is well spent when in attendance of the Swedish veteran. However although the Dutch genius Tiesto ended the show with a performance that would leave fans of every sub-genre of dance music satisfied, it was Avicii that stole the show, with his unique variety and innate knack of sensing exactly what the crowd wants never failing to deliver. The Swede who was behind the  massive hit “Levels” in 2011 also dropped his latest song “wake me up” with American pop star Alloe Blacc, and after it’s recent success it would take a brave man betting against the hit making them lots of “dollars”.

With Creamfields only weeks away, EDC was exactly what the doctor ordered showcasing exactly why Electro House has taken the charts by storm attracting interest from artists within all different varieties of genres ranging from hip hop to rock. Hardwell claimed it was “one of the best shows he’s ever done” as he wrote on Twitter to his followers. Insomniac events provided a spectacle worthy of all the hype surrounding it, as EDM was the perfect accomplice in making London bounce and the dance scene shake.
