Pete Tong premieres Avicii’s new single “You Make Me”

Pete Tong is world famous for his selection in music, and more importantly the music he chooses to premiere on his infamous radio show “Essential selections”.

Tong whips listeners through his favourite selections, with “You make me” making the cut for his global radio show. Tong claimed to listeners how he tips Avicii’s new album “True” to be “on the Essential selections by the end of the summer”. Tong also revealed to listeners the single is to be released on the 16th of September.

Amongst the young Swede were other world premieres, including the “Arston remix” of “Grand Finale” by Russian producer Arty. Providing a hard-hitting big room electro track for listeners.

However the British radio DJ’s Essential Tune of the week went to Chris Malinchak’s suave track “If U got it”, taking the spot from Calvin Harris’ remix of “Eat Sleep Rave Repeat”.

Tongs Essential selection show is on next friday at 9pm on Radio 1, as he reveals to the world his pick of the newest dance music tracks.

Ellie Goulding reaches Number One spot for first time

Ellie Goulding reached the UK number one spot for the first time on the 18th Of August 2013, a date she will never forget. Miss Goulding topped the charts with “Burn”, a song remixed by Tiesto last month, which could only have helped the 26 year old on her rise to the top.

Having made the number one spot with “I need your Love” with ex lover Calvin Harris, this is the Herefordshire born Brits first solo number one track.

Shortly after finding out that she’d topped the charts the 26 year old wrote to her fans on Twitter “Number one. F**k. First UK number one… Thank you to all the fans for supporting me THE WHOLE TIME, overwhelmed and so happy x”.

Having recently split from Ex-Boyfriend and Worlds highest paid DJ Calvin Harris, Miss Goulding sought to make a strong impression on the public, and what more does that than a chart topping hit.

The single joins a long list of songs that cross POPular music with Dance, clearly popular with the British public.

Ellie Gouldinhgs “Burn” knocked Aviciis “Wake Me Up” collaboration with Alloe Blacc of the top spot, however they stayed strong at number two.

SLVR marks SIZE records 10th anniversary

SLVR is to be released today by Size records marking the labels 10th anniversary and 100th release.

Having called it quits with Swedish House Mafia earlier this year, Steve Angello is back on the House scene teaming up with Russian duo Matisse and Sadko. The track is more then worthy of the labels centennial release, with the Russian duos melodic and synth centred style proving to be an exceptional compliment to Angellos epic imprint on the track.

Steve Angello, head of SIZE records posted on twitter that day “Thank you for being part of SIZE 10 years ! SIZE100 is out today and its been a hell of a ride ! i´m blessed and thankful ! Much LOVE #SLVR

One wouldn’t be at fault for suggesting that Mr Angello might take some time out from the industry, but you couldn’t be more wrong as he releases an epic track that can be played in festivals as well as at the peak of a night in clubs. Having separated from fellow Swedes Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso after an illustrious reign at the peak of House music with Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello released the song today on beatport and has tour dates set for the end of September in New York on the 27th and 28th as part of SIZE in the park.

Wake me up staying strong at the top

“House” and “Country” music have few similarities in terms of the structural aspects of both genres, yet combined they create a chart topping hit.

Typically, House music involves prominent basslines, short and high pitched riffs, with a constant kick drum accompanying every beat. Country music however  originates from the rural regions of western America, usually with a guitar, banjo or perhaps a harmonica present. Three weeks ago young Swede Tim Bergling also known as “Avicii” topped the charts with a ” country house” song “Wake me up” featuring Alloe Blacc and has remained there since.

Having played the song publicly at this years Ultra music Festival in Miami during March, there were many doubters, including the most loyal of Avicii fans. Mr Bergling however  managed to convince the masses and as a result achieved unprecedented success proving to be the fastest selling single of the year so far. Moreover the hit has made the number one spot in 14 different countries topping the charts in both the Netherlands and Sweden, both of which hold House close to their hearts. The single also achieved success in the U.S. and Canadian charts, falling one short of the top at number 2.

On one of his podcasts earlier this year Avicii revealed to the masses how he is “working on some different and cool stuff this Summer” and that this year has been his “best” so far.

Long may the success continue for Avicii and Mr Blacc, as they won’t want to wake up from this particular dream.
